This may be a little wacky but I've added this script to a 3rd person game in which the camera follows the player who is flying around in 3d space. Or you can create macros that can be a combo of several windows actions and key mapping assignements all performed with activating just 1 button.Just wanted to say, what a great script! Really added a lot to a project I'm working on so just wanted to say a big THANK YOU! Tweak settings and save them to the onboard memory, after than i can uninstall the software and my mouse will retain all those settings.īut im not sure what you mean by sending commands that are not built into Windows.Ĭan you explain that part to me? Maybe you mean that by default Windows will only recognize 5 buttons on any mouse, and if the mouse has more than 5 buttons, it requires aĭriver/software to recognize those extra buttons ?Īs far as i understand it, when you assign functions to mouse buttons, you either assign them to perform some action in Windows like copy/paste/left click/right click/double click/middle mouse click (example : when i press one of the thumb buttons it will peform a left mouse double click) or you assign buttons to replicate certain keyboard keys/keystrokes like you would with a remapping application (example: when i press another one of my extra mouse buttons, it will act as if i pressed W key on the keyboard). All i know is i nver install anything extra for my mouse when i install windows since ive set up my mouse the way i want it, and only if i need to change anything in those settings i will install the so-called Logitech Gaming Software, which is bassically an application where i can easily through user-feindly inteface You could be right about Windows downloading the driver. Windows Update will always attempt to grab the correct drivers, not basic USB2/3 Peripheral ones, and failing to do that, will leave your mouse "basic" Originally posted by Mansen:You cannot "just" plug and play that mouse and have it send commands that aren't built into Windows, no matter how hard you try. ![]() I dont know how razer mice work cause ive never used one, but i read that it basically requires the software to be installed and you even have to create an account and log into it to use the software so i stayed away from their mice/keyboards for this reason. So maybe thats why it needs the driver/software to assign buttons. However, if your mouse has more buttons, maybe its treated as a keyboard rather than a mouse I think you dont understand me, i can just "plug and play" as in i dont need to install any drivers or any software, all my settings and keybinds are saved in onboard memory, and i never install logitech drivers/software unless i need to change the settings that are stored in the memory. Razer have earned a bit of a reputation for exactly that. Whether or not Logitech's driver interferes with other applications is a different discussion. Originally posted by Mansen:Good - So we agree that Logitech has installed a compatible driver to make the mouse work.Īgain all that the onboard memory does is save settings - You still need that Logitech driver to use any of those features. But thanks anyways! Maybe your answer could help somebody else I actually have tried everything in videosettings and mouse settings in-game and in OS, changed those windowed to fullscreen aswell. I have tried this even before you wrote your answer. I hope this helps you, I know just how frustrating this is. I know that was my issue since if I switched back to windowed borderless there would be no problem, but when I restarted the game in windowed borderless the problem came back. It was only after I restarted that I noticed the problem had been fixed. It's really important to restart the game since after just changing there was no difference. I found that I needed to change from having the game in windowed borderless (I always have games in windowed borderless since I have 2 monitors and that makes things easier) to normal fullscreen, and then I needed to RESTART the game.
